Not to defend the guy, but isn’t that the whole point of a trial (to influence the jurors in the courtroom)?
they probably meant jury tampering, either by buying them off, or giving them something in return for favorable vote.
The article says it was because he was looking at the jurors and nodding. I’m sure what I’m picturing wasn’t what happy because I didn’t understand it either.
