I vaguely remember someone saying that music is essentially brain massage. Pretty sure I got that from a sample used in a song.
Still K-ON!, TBH. I like band-themed anime, it’s more than one season and there’s just enough yuri injected to spice it up (though it’s more of a running gag than anything trying to be serious).
I really enjoyed the more recent Laid-back Camp/Yuru Camp. Incredibly chill.
Happy little accidents?
Damn, dude. I hope it gets better for you.
It’s usually more of a constant dissatisfaction and low motivation than an ‘everything sucks forever’-feeling.
The article says right there that only 1 in 3 people are doing that (in europe).
hate it when it’s one of those days
What strawman? I’m talking about my old phones in my drawer, and I’m certainly not the only one who does that.
The thing with that is that nobody can get (much) use out of my old phones, because I already use them until they’re broken or unreasonably old - when even aftermarket ROMs like LineageOS don’t get security updates anymore, it’s time to retire that phone, and I regularly use my phones beyond that point.
Yeah, power can be abused, what else is new? But people joining for a cause also doesn’t do much if they don’t have the means to enforce their cause with violence - usually they’ll just get overwhelmed by whoever does have the means for violence. Peaceful revolutions are possible (e.g. Indian independence), but they require relatively specific circumstances and a lot of people who are willing to stay nonviolent even as they’re beaten up (and worse) by the police. I suppose you can do almost anything peacefully if your group is large enough and has enough cohesion, but that’s incredibly difficult to achieve and I think it’s actually more difficult nowadays, because everyone has a handheld communication device on them at all times that’s filled with fascist propaganda.
My last phone broke after about 1.5 years of me using it (and it was already a refurbished device), and my current relatively new-to-me phone only has 2 years of security updates left (also refurbished). I’m probably going to use it for longer than that if it doesn’t break, but that would definitely be a good time to get a new phone if money was no object and I didn’t give a shit about the environment.
The thing is, recycling is clearly better for the environment than having 3 unused old phones in your drawer.
Who isn’t? If the phone doesn’t break, it becomes unusably slow with any operating system that still receives security updates (if there are any, which is not a given). Also, I have my doubts on whether it’s actually possible to reliably delete all data from your old phone as a consumer.
/s, right? … right?
How do you do that, though? The rich and powerful aren’t going to suddenly start pouring their resources into progressive messaging, and there’s only so much you can do when you’re diametrically opposed to them.
Can’t believe I’m quoting fucking Mao, but: “Political power grows out of the barrel of a gun.”
One thing that would probably help a lot is more progressive rolemodels who actually go out proselyzetizing, i.e. a more direct progressive equivalent to the likes of Andrew Tate. Though IDK how to actually make that kind of thing big, the fascist tech bros who rule silicon valley will surely suppress it even if it was gaining some momentum.
I use xfce4-terminal, lxterminal is also good for the same reasons. The nice thing about them is that their configs are very stable (this can be a bit of an issue with KDE, e.g. I recently had to redo my editor themes for Kate because the old ones weren’t compatible anymore), and they save system resources by letting all terminals run in one process. Running terminal windows in separate processes might protect you from crashes, but even though I use terminals heavily I just never have terminal crashes. And they’re simpler to configure than e.g. urxvt.
Arguably, being muscular is a male beauty standard. I would very much prefer it if men had more freedom of expression, though.
Fair. There are a lot of bands that usually have a completely different sound from their popular songs (which can be pretty disappointing when you like listening to albums).
