It’s in the intro to S07E11. Took me a while to track it down!

Flamekebab@piefed.socialto Games@lemmy.world•How do you keep track of what games you have played over the years?English5·1 day agoI can definitely see the appeal of being able to do stuff with the information, and I doubt I could sit down and make a list of every game I’ve ever played. However my memory is pretty good for this sort of thing. It’s very rare for me to lose objects as I have a database-like memory for that stuff.
Amusingly this means that if someone else moves things then I’m comedically awful at searching for whatever it was, and if I move house or re-organise then it takes me a few weeks for my brain to record all the new data. Until then I’m a clueless idiot.
Oh and as I said in another comment - time is my nemesis. I often don’t know what day of the week it is and anything beyond about a week and a half into the future has almost no meaning to me. It’s not a very useful trade-off!
Flamekebab@piefed.socialto Games@lemmy.world•How do you keep track of what games you have played over the years?English2·1 day agoThe tradeoff is that I’m terrible at time. Anything beyond about ten days in the future is almost meaningless to me.

Any time anyone on here wants to repost one of these things - at least try to find the uncensored version. LET’S KILL THIS IDIOTIC PRO-ADVERTISER CENSORSHIP BOLLOCKS!
I quite like the way How I Met Your Mother handles this - the size of the apartments is the narrator misremembering. There’s an episode where the characters have been viewing a house in
New JerseyLong Island - they return to the apartment and it’s portrayed as the size it realistically would be.

It does make me wonder whether I should bin the whole TrueNAS approach entirely. It seems like a tremendous faff when I could just have the files mirrored to another disk as a backup.
Flamekebab@piefed.socialOPto Selfhosted@lemmy.world•TrueNAS Scale, hard disks, and poolsEnglish0·21 days agoThe hard disks are on a separate power supply. The TrueNAS software is running on an old laptop so it effectively has UPS protection.

Flamekebab@piefed.socialto Programmer Humor@programming.dev•Once you know Bootstrap's CSS you can't unsee itEnglish0·27 days agoI have to use Bootstrap at work and I’m really not a fan. It’s somehow more work than writing CSS from scratch.
Alternatively - “You never use that thing! We spent so much money on it!”
