I currently use finamp (on phone), volumio (for home speakers). I wanted to know if plugin either server side or client side exist which can play songs automatically based on first song played? I want to be able to select a song and play similar songs instead of manually creating playlist and updating them when new content is added.

    No plugin required.

In finamp, navigate to a song and hold your finger down on it until a popup shows.

From the popup, select instant mix.

It’ll create a mix of songs based on the one you first selected.

I highly recommend checking out Symfonium. It’s got a free trial, only costs a one-time fee, and has some great features that might do what you need.

Actually read about it in the past but couldn’t purchase since I don’t use Google services. But now I see Kofi donation option so definitely giving it a try.

This may not be what you want but I use Feishin client on my desktop, and it has button to play random songs. I just click it, select a range of release year and then select the number of songs I want. It automatically creates a temporary playlist. I think it also has a genre selection, so this might help you.

That is quite interesting, may not serve current purpose but every now and then I want to find new music as well this will come in handy.
